Questions for potential On-the-Net Custom Web Development Clients.
Please to go the text file, add your answers, and email to us, along
with a detailed description of the project. The more you can answer, the better a job we can do for you. If these questions leave you in a haze, it just means we can help you that much more.
These are important matters that we will need to address, so we would like the most technical contact in your company to work with us on them.
- Detailed project description
Descriptions, such as 'just like www.xyz.com', are helpful but not sufficient.
What is sufficient is a detailed list of features with explanation or example of each.
Before any programming can be done, an example or story board of how each feature works has
to be created, the sooner then better.
- A URL to your web site. If the web site for this project
is not running yet, please provide a URL on the
same web server computer.
- What kind of server are you running?
Please provide operating system and webserver.
Give a URL to the server.
- Do you have Perl 5 on your server?
Please provide the results from running, (perl -v)
- Do you have a C compiler on your server? Is it GCC?
- Do you have cgi access on your server?
- Do you have telnet access to your server?
- Do you have access to server error logs?
- How many users do you expect for the system you want
developed? What kind of web site traffic for these functions?
- How soon do you want to put the system online?
- Do you have your own graphic designers or do you
need our help in that area also?
- Please provide any additional system details or examples of
the system you want developed. An operating Web site as an
example is not sufficient since the internal operations need
to be detailed also.
- Please provide any details you can in terms of project budget.
- If this is a sizeable project, we'd also like some information
about your organization and examples (if any) of any online
presence that you might have.
